Ada data yang didapat dari NOAA 5 hari yang lalu:
"NOAA data from [5] days ago showed a major disturbance of three of the buoys west of Smith Island (in the Andaman Sea - also known as the Nicobar). Displacement of the first buoy shows approximately 1500 feet (down). Weather doesn't seem to have been severe enough to cause this type of disturbance."

Gentlemen, I believe I saw the Malaysian Airlines plane come down. The timing is right. I tried to contact the Malaysian and Vietnam officials several days ago. But I do not know if the message has been received. I am on the oil-rig “Songa Mercur” off Vung Tau The surface location of the observation is: Lat. 08° 22’ 30.23° N Long. 108°42’ 22.24° E I observed (the plane?) burning at high altitude and on a compass bearing of 265° to 275° from our surface location. It is very difficult to judge the distance but I’d say 50-70km along the compass bearing 260° - 275°. While I observed the burning (plane) it appeared to be in ONE piece. The surface sea current at our location is: 2.0 – 2.3 knots in a direction of 225° - 230°. The wind direction has been NE – ENE averaging 15-20 knots. From when I first saw the burning (plane) until the flames went out (still at high altitude) was 10-15 seconds. There was no lateral movement, so it was either coming toward our location, stationary (falling) or going away from our location. The general position of the observation was perpendicular / south-west of the normal flight paths (we see the con-trails every day) and at a lower altitude than the normal flight paths. Or on the compass bearing 255° - 275° intersecting the normal flight paths and at normal altitude but further away. Good luck, Michael Jerome McKay NZ passport #LA 888818. |

U.S. investigators suspect that Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 stayed in the air for about four hours past the time it reached its last confirmed location, according to two people familiar with the details, raising the possibility that the plane could have flown on for hundreds of additional miles under conditions that remain murky.
Aviation investigators and national security officials believe the plane flew for a total of five hours based on data automatically downloaded and sent to the ground from the Boeing Co. 777's engines as part of a routine maintenance and monitoring program. The engines' onboard monitoring system is provided by their manufacturer, Rolls-Royce PLC, and it periodically sends bursts of data about engine health, operations and aircraft movements to facilities on the ground. As part of its maintenance agreements, Malaysia Airlines transmits its engine data live to Rolls-Royce for analysis. The system compiles data from inside the 777's two Trent 800 engines and transmits snapshots of performance, as well as the altitude and speed of the jet. Those snippets are compiled and transmitted in 30-minute increments, said one person familiar with the system. According to Rolls-Royce's website, the data is processed automatically "so that subtle changes in condition from one flight to another can be detected." The engine data is being analyzed to help determine the flight path of the plane after the transponders stopped working. The jet was originally headed for China, and its last verified position was half way across the Gulf of Thailand. A total flight time of five hours after departing Kuala Lumpur means the Boeing 777 could have continued for an additional distance of about 2,200 nautical miles, reaching points as far as the Indian Ocean, the border of Pakistan or even the Arabian Sea, based on the jet's cruising speed. |

New developments on MH370 this morning has pointed a second time to the possibility that missing flight MH370 had remained airborne for several hours after it disappeared from civilian radar at 1.30am on March 8.
According to a Reuters report, satellites had picked up faint electronic pulses from the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) aircraft after its disappearance, which it said suggested that the plane's maintenance troubleshooting system were “switched on and ready to communicate” with satellites at the time. Citing sources, the report said the system “pings” about once every hour and in the case of MH370, around five or six such pulses were heard. This could mean that MH370, which was Beijing-bound and ferrying 239 people, had continued to fly on for a number of hours after it left the radar screens. |

As a massive search for the missing flight MH370 centred in the Andaman and South China seas, the Pentagon has indicated that the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777-200ER may have crashed in the Indian Ocean.
ABC News quoted a senior Pentagon official as saying that missile destroyer USS Kidd was heading to the area and is expected to reach there within 24 hours. “We have an indication the plane went down in the Indian Ocean,” the senior official told the American news channel. The official said there were indications that the plane continued to fly for four or five hours after disappearing from radar and that they believe it went into the water. The US action came hours after Malaysian officials said they had extended their search into the Andaman Sea and had requested help from India in the search for the missing plane and its 239 passengers and crew. |
