Obral Murah: Boeing Membayar Sebagian Korban Lion Air JT610 $1.2 Juta Per-Keluarga.
. . Boeing settles first 737 Max lawsuits with families of Indonesia crash victims Almost a year after a Lion Air 737 Max crashed off the coast of Indonesia killing 189 people, Boeing has started settling lawsuits brought by the families of victims. The Wisner law firm in Geneva, Illinois sid 11 cases against Boeing have been settled for an undisclosed amount. Reuters, which first reported the settlements, said each of the families of those killed will receive at least $1.2 million. The settlements are the first to be announced among more than 50 lawsuits that were filed against Boeing relating to the Lion Air crash on October 29, 2018. Boeing is also facing dozens of lawsuits related to an Ethiopian Airlines 737 Max crash in March 2019 that killed 157 people. Those suits continue even as Boeing prepares to pay $144,500 to the families of each person who died in 737 Max crashes. Those payments will come from a $100 million compensation fund Boeing set up earlier this year. Overseeing that fund and the payments to victims will be attorney Ken Feinberg and Camille Biros, his co-administrator... ...The families of 737 MAX victims have until December 31, 2019, to file a claim with the Boeing compensation fund. The claim does not eliminate their right to pursue a separate lawsuit with Boeing... =========== .. - https://www.cnbc.com/2019/09/25/boei...on-apiece.html |

Getting the 737 Max flying again will require Boeing to make its MCAS system less confusing for pilots ...The National Transportation Safety Board, which investigates plane crashes, said the crews on the 737 Max crashes that killed 346 people didn't handle the final moments of their flights as Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration expected. Safety experts believe pilot training will be critical to eliminating any possible confusion in the cockpit. That includes Christopher Hart, former chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board. "I think it's time to revisit the standards that we use to determine if this automation is interfacing properly with the human," Hart said in an interview... ..."The accident pilot responses to the unintended MCAS operation were not consistent with the underlying assumptions about pilot recognition and response that Boeing used, based on FAA guidance, for flight control system functional hazard assessments, including for MCAS, as part of the 737 MAX design," was one conclusion of the NTSB. In short, the NTSB concluded that pilots were confused and that may have contributed to their inability to keep their planes from crashing. That's not to say the crashes were due to human error. Investigators in Indonesia and Ethiopia have not released their final reports on the accidents, but initial reports indicate the design of the 737 Max, the repeated engagement of MCAS and the reaction of the pilots were factors in the crashes. The NTSB report concluded, "neither Boeing's system safety assessment nor its simulator tests evaluated how the combined effect of alerts and indications might impact pilots' recognition of which procedure(s) to prioritize in responding to an unintended MCAS operation caused by an erroneous AOA (angle of attack) input."... ========== |
