Software Quality Engineer
Job Description:
The
Software Quality Engineer will be responsible for writing and executing manual tests of our Software. Will develop test cases and possibly test scripts in conjunction with the software development groups to validate and verify application functionality and performance. Test cases will be derived from functional specifications and customer requirements. Generate test plans, test scripts and test reports for targeted software. Validate and verify functionality and performance requirements against documented specifications. Identify, evaluate and document defects, questionable functionality, errors and inconsistencies in the targeted software. Update and report defects into Softwares defect tracking tool. Migrate software applications from development to QE to production phases. Work with software engineers to resolve testing issues.
Experience/Required Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance and software testing.
Strong comprehensive knowledge of software testing process, methodology and best practices.
Ability to generate test documentation (i.e. test cases, test plans, test reports, and analysis of results.etc.).
Working knowledge and experience in IP networking
Experience testing Windows and Macintosh Applications and Drivers.
Experience working and testing in wireless technologies and products (802.11, 3G cellular CDMA/WCDMA, 3GPP Specifications)
Experience testing mobile devices and certifying firmware.
Experience with
Spira Team or Test Director test case management software is a plus.
Working closely with Engineering to understand the Product Architecture and identifying, designing, or enhancing existing test frameworks.
Experience interfacing with customers.
Ability to travel up to 20%
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
