| A famous chef, Emeril Lagasse (http://www.emerils.com/ ), owns the NOLA Restaurant located on 534 St. Louis Street, New Orleans, LA 70130 (http://www.emerils.com/restaurant/2/NOLA-Restaurant/ ). The restaurant offers creole cuisine. Below please find photographs when I had dinner on October 4 & 5, 2009. 100_1103a.jpg: APPETIZER: Emeril's Barbecued Gulf Shrimp with Rosemary Biscuit (US$10) 100_1107a.jpg: ENTREE: Buttermilk Fried Breast of Chicken with Bourbon Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Smithfield Ham Cream Gravy and Sauteed Sugar Snap Peas (US$27) -- the Mashed Sweet Potatoes are shown in the middle of the plate 100_1110a.jpg: DESSERT: NOLA Daily Sorbet (US$6.50). In Italian cuisine, there are two types of ice creams. One is called "gelato" (also known as "ice cream" around the world) that contains dairy ingredients (such as milk and cream). The other one is called "sorbetto" (or known as "sorbet") that does not contain dairy ingredients. The reason I ordered sorbet is to reduce the intake of cholesterol usually found in dairy ingredients. 100_1250a.jpg: NOLA Restaurant 100_1251a.jpg: NOLA Restaurant |
